Coach Ferguson leads by example at U.S. Open
Coach Ferguson showed a lot of heart and courage this month as he competed in the prestigious U.S. Open National Wrestling Tournament in Las Vegas.
Coach Ferguson went 2-2, earning a 5th place finish in Greco-Roman.
On top of that, Coach Ferguson won 4 straight matches the following day after losing a close first round battle in Freestyle. In the opening round, Coach had the honor of wrestling UFC Hall of Fame fighter and former UC Davis wrestler, Uriah Faber.
In his third place match, Coach Ferguson was able to pull off a clutch pin with :30 seconds left as he was trailing 3-1.
In addition, Coach Ferguson’s dad, Steve, competed in Las Vegas alongside his son at 69 years old! Steve finished 1st in his division in Greco-Roman and 2nd in Freestyle.
