Thank You - Peggy Murphy Memorial
We are deeply saddened regarding the loss of a truly great woman and one of our founding Board of Directors, Peggy Murphy on October 11, 2018.
Peggy served as the current treasurer for Passion First Wrestling, Inc. (the non-profit behind Wrestling With Character) and was instrumental in the creation, development and ongoing success of our program. In addition to acting as our Treasurer, Peggy served our Wrestling With Character family in a variety of ways behind the scenes.
In fact, Peggy’s kind and generous spirit was the catalyst that made our organization possible to begin with. Previous to her initial $4,000 donation, the concept of Wrestling With Character was only a dream - with no real funding to bring it’s vision to life. Her belief in our mission was critical to making this dream a reality. That dream has now blossomed to serve so many kids and families for the last 3+ years and will undoubtedly help many more for years to come.
As Peggy suffered from a hearing impairment throughout her life, Wrestling With Character is proud to announce that we will be honoring her legacy with the annual Peggy Murphy Scholarship for Deaf and Hearing Impaired Youth Athletes beginning in 2019.
We want to express our sincere thanks for Peggy and everything that she has meant to us. Last, we send send our deepest condolences to Coach Murphy and Coach Buell on the loss of their mother as well as everyone that knew and loved this truly special human being.
